Event-Packed Weekend Ahead

Summer is definitely upon us and there is a host of events going on this weekend. The events range from comedy, dance gigs, drink ups etc. No matter your choice of entertainment, you are bound to find something that takes your fancy. Check out the events below.

Tuku Memorial Show at Glamis Arena

 

The biggest event of the weekend is arguably the Tuku Memorial show which will be held at Glamis Arena today starting at 8 pm till the next morning. Unfortunately, one of the biggest headliners of the event Winky D has pulled out of the show.

 

All hope is not lost for the local fans looking forward to Tuku’s Tribute Concert as the gig will feature local artists, Alick Macheso and Jah Prayzah while South Africa’s Mi Casa and Zambia’s Amayenge and James Sakala will also be part of the show.

Zimdancehall stars, Enzo Ishall, Tocky Vibes, Black Spirits, and Kinnah will also be part of the performing artists having a god recollection of the times they shared with the late national hero Oliver Mtukudzi through music.

 

Shoko Festival 27-29 September 2019 (Harare & Chitungwiza)

This year the Shoko Festival is all about the vibes. Especially the good ones! The 2019 edition of Zimbabwe’s longest-running urban culture festival will run from the 27th – 29th September 2019 at various venues in Harare and Chitungwiza under the theme Good Vibes Only.

Good Vibes Only is all about creating an inspirational artistic space in the trying times of Zimbabwe today. Shoko 2019 will open up space with art and creativity that represents serious good vibes and that motivates all our festival-goers to keep believing that their dreams are valid. Shoko will be a Good Vibes Only zone where it’s all about free expression, thrilling performances and positive energy.

The festival, which is entering its 9th edition, will be bubbling over with its signature diverse programming including the iconic main event – Peace in the Hood in Chitungwiza, which draws over 5 000 festival-goers annually. The Peace In The Hood concert will once again set out to break boundaries by giving platforms to young urban artists, showcasing groundbreaking new collaborations and taking riotous international acts out to the hood. 

The featured artists of the event include Nutty O and Bazooker who will perform on Sunday.

Shoko Festival Comedy Night

This is part of the Shoko Festival but it deserves special mention as it is one the headliners of the festival. It will be hosted by comrade Fatso at the Reps theatre. Learn more about the festival here.

The Zambezi Bonfire

The Mighty Zambezi Bonfire

This is another great highlight of the weekend.

This will be the first-ever Mighty Zambezi Bonfire and it's brought to you by Zimbabwe’s Own lager – Zambezi Lager.

The Forest Fest

This is a  new picnic-style event for the greater part of the afternoon into the late night, in a forest type setting plus game viewing.

 

Outdoor event with a great vibe, great music, great food, great people!

Wine tasting, draft beer at pump price, drinking games and a lot more to check out. All this in an animal sanctuary with great views!

Cooler boxes allowed. The event will be held at Mukuvisi game Park.

Admission is $30 RTGS advance and $50 RTGS at the gate.

 

 

Zim Stock Goes Carnival

 

This will be a fun-filled family day with loads of entertainment and something for everyone! There will be performances by Ammara Brown, Rob Burrell, ProBeatz & Sylent Nqo, Magnetic Force Flash Mob, Evicted and many more!

There will also be magicians, Fire throwers and many SURPRISES. 
And the best news for parents, there is a new Free UNLIMITED access to the KIDS ZONE which includes go-carting, bungee trampoline, water slides and more!
One ticket covers all the fun including a big screen for rugby.

There will be full bar and catering
