Freda Rebecca Gold Mine in Bindura is now paying workers in US dollars.

The company has acquired approval to pay its workers in US dollars as evidenced by an internal memo from the general manager to all workers confirming that Freda Rebecca will be paying their salaries in US dollars between January 2020 and December 2020.

The employees will henceforth receive their salaries in USD starting next week.

Workers have been advised that the offer is a privilege and any form of abuse will lead to its withdrawal.

The memo was signed by Fred Rebecca's general manager Eliakem Hove.

This development implies that the dollarisation of the economy is inevitable as firms dollarise.
