Mozambique continues to repatriate Zimbabweans as the Embassy in Mozambique is working in collaboration with immigration authorities of the neighbouring country.

So far 140 Zimbabweans have been successfully repatriated from Mozambique in three separate groups through Sango border post with the government providing transport and quarantine services in line with guidelines on managing the spread of COVID-19.

Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Mozambique, Retired Lieutenant General Douglas Nyikayaramba, who is facilitating the repatriation process, said the programme is going on well urging Zimbabweans who want to come back home to contact the embassy.

“I can confirm that the Zimbabwean embassy is working with the Mozambique authorities to repatriate Zimbabwean nationals back home, the exercise has largely been successful so far with the first group of 46 people who departed on Saturday 16 May 2020,” he said.

Most of these returnees from Mozambique are currently quarantined at Roosevelt Girls High school in Harare in line with the Covid-19 regulations spelt out by the government.
