Winky D’s Drummer, Scara The Drummer Has Died
In a sad development, Zimbabweans woke up to the news that highly talented artist and drummer, Delroy Scara Maripakwenda has passed away.
The young drummer who was known by his professional name of Scara The Drummer died on Saturday night.
Sources who spoke to an online publication said that the drummer had not been feeling well for some days and is suspected to have succumbed to complications relating to the heart.
Scara was part of Winky D’s Vigilance Band where his electric performances on the drums made Winky D’s live performances so noteworthy. He is was well known for his high-tech drum set and made quite the spectacle during Winky D’s performance at the Beenie Man show in 2017, when he introduced fans to his invisible drummer.
Scara was an all-round talented artist who was also accomplished as a dancer and choreographer. Before joining the Vigilance Band, Scara was a member of Innovative Dance Crew. The group won many awards and came in second in the 2012 Jibilika New School Battle where they came second.
In a 2018 interview, Scara The Drummer explained how he had to convince Winky D that despite being a dancer and choreographer, he was a talented drummer as well.
