Mugodhi Church officially joins Zanu PF

Bishop Mugodhi of the Mugodhi sect has acknowledged President Mnangagwa’s openness and praised the peace and stability prevailing in the country.

Bishop Mugodhi also commended the President for the infrastructure developments and empowerment initiatives being carried out across the country, saying they would improve the lives of ordinary people.

President Mnangagwa and his government has always valued the role of the churches due to their close interactions with grassroots communities.

In a service by the Mugodhi Apostolic Faith Church in Harare’s Warren Park D suburb, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said Our President values the role played by the church in our communities because he knows that you are the custodians of the people.

“That is why he regularly meets with church leaders as you are the ones who deal with their concerns and needs on a daily basis,”

The meeting which coincided with the visit of its leader, Bishop Washington Mugodhi. Minister Mutsvangwa went on to say the president’s regular meetings with church leaders was a recognition of the important role the churches play in communities.

Minister Mutsvangwa added that said.
“The church and the State are two sides of the same coin and no economic development can happen without the involvement of the church.”

She said Government appreciated the prayers and spiritual guidance received from the church and it was important that the two institutions continue to work cordially for the benefit of the country and its citizens.

The Minister also thanked the Mugodhi Apostolic Faith Church for supporting Zanu PF and President Mnangagwa under the Vapostori for ED banner ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections and urged them to register to vote in their numbers.

She urged the congregants to take advantage of the economic empowerment initiatives being implemented by the Government, especially for the benefit of women and youths.

“The President has an open door policy and feel free to bring your concerns to him; he is a listening President,” Minister Mutsvangwa said.

Bishop Mugodhi thanked the Minister for attending their church service and promised their support ahead of next year’s elections.

“As a church we have made our choice of standing behind Zanu PF and the President because, not only is it our constitutionally guaranteed right to do so but even the scriptures compel us to support our leaders because they are installed in those positions by God and it’s only him who can remove them,” the Bishop said.
