IMPORTANT NOTICE: New UK Travel Requirements
The UK will require travellers to have an Electronic Travel Authorisation on or after 15 November 2023

IMPORTANT NOTICE: New UK Travel Requirements
The United Kingdom has introduced new travel requirements which will come into effect on the 15th of November 2023.
Under the new regulations, those who were eligible to enter the UK without a Visa and are not already legally resident in the UK will need to get an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travelling into the country.
UK Bans Overseas Students from Bringing Families
The ETA will be valid for less than 6 months and covers the following:
- Tourism;
- Visit family or friends;
- Transit;
- Business; and
- Short-term study.
For work and long-term study, travellers are encouraged to apply for visa.
Only British and Irish citizens are exempt from the new requirements.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: New UK Travel Requirements
For those in need of the ETA, they need to apply online before booking any travel to the UK.
Once granted, the ETA will be valid for multiple travel for 2 years or when the current passport expires.
Travellers will not be allowed to board without the ETA. The ETA is electronically linked to the passport. The UK however advises travellers to print the ETA.
While the ETA grants permission to travel to the UK, it does not grant entry so travellers still need to produce a passport at the border.
