Five people have reportedly died on the spot in a horror bus accident that happened earlier today in Marondera.
The bus crash occurred at Tannery along the Harare-Mutare Highway earlier this morning. It involved a passenger bus, a haulage truck and a Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
Fatal Accident after Sidechick's Murder
So bad was the three-vehicle crash that the bus swerved off the road and overturned. In pictures making rounds on social media, the bus was lying on its side.
Five people perished on the spot at the scene of the accident, while several others sustained injuries.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police National Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi revealed that rescue services retrieved the bodies from the accident wreckage.

He added that the death toll could rise when the teams rescuing the passengers finish removing the bodies trapped inside the vehicles.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirm a fatal accident along Harare-Mutare road near Diggleford Primary School.
The accident involved a bus, a haulage truck and a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. We are still gathering full information as our officers are on the ground, but what we can confirm is that we have five bodies that have been retrieved from the bus.
We are yet to ascertain the total number of passengers who were on the bus.”
Members of the public helped emergency services retrieve the bodies of the dead and those injured. Those passing by had to park their vehicles to witness the horror accident.

Others assisted in moving the wounded and taking them to safety as others used their wrappers and sweaters to cover the deceased.
