Chimombe-Chivhayo-Mpofu Case: Tenderpreneurs Not in Zim
So, Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu have got their legal eagles to chirp up about why they're playing hide and seek with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC).
Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu have, through their lawyers, explained why they have not presented themselves for questioning to the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC).
ZACC to Probe Chimombe-Chivhayo-Mpofu Dealings
In a previous statement, ZACC had invited Chimombe, Mpofu, and Wicknell Chivayo for interviews as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering and abuse of office involving a contractual dispute between the trio over the supply of election materials to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).
ZACC's big cheese, Michael Reza, was having a natter with the press at the High Court judges' swearing-in shindig, and he let slip that our elusive trio hasn't popped in for a cosy chat yet.
Reza's dropped a hint that if these lads don't show up for their tea-time interrogation pronto, ZACC's gonna come knocking with more than just a friendly ‘how do you do'.

Reza said:
We know they have their rights but we have our time limit. If they don’t come we will go after them.
Now, word from Chimombe and Mpofu's mouthpieces at Antonio & Dzvetero Legal Practitioners is that the pair are off gallivanting outside Zim but swear they'll sing like canaries once they're back. No word on when that's gonna be, though. The letter read:
Our clients are currently out of the country and will not be able to attend any interviews until their return to Zimbabwe, however, they are willing to co-operate fully with the investigations and are available to attend any requested interviews upon their return.
Meanwhile, Chimombe and Mpofu are reportedly mooching around China, and Wicknell Chivayo's gone AWOL. Classic!
