Premier League: Liverpool Lead as Arsenal & City Stutter
An unlikely team has entered the top four in the form of Nottingham Forest in the same weekend that defending champions City and title aspirants Arsenal lost.
Spurs 4-1 Aston Villa
Aston Villa took an early lead through a corner in the first half, but Tottenham Hotspur roared back in the second half with a determined performance. Brennan Johnson equalised from a Son Heung-min cross, setting the stage for Dominic Solanke's brace that left Villa deflated. James Maddison's sublime free kick sealed a comprehensive 4-1 victory for Spurs.
Man Utd 1-1 Chelsea
In a rather dull encounter, both Manchester United and Chelsea missed numerous chances, with Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford being the main culprits. Sloppy passes and tackles, particularly from Lisandro MartÃnez, marred the game. United took the lead through Bruno Fernández, but Chelsea's Moisés Caicedo equalised with a long-range strike just four minutes later. United were awarded a penalty but failed to convert, leaving the match to end in a 1-1 draw.
Newcastle 1-0 Arsenal
Despite the scoreline, Newcastle United's clash with Arsenal was a one-sided affair. Newcastle needed just one chance to score, with Anthony Gordon's cross being converted by Alexander Isak. Arsenal, lacking creativity, struggled to create meaningful opportunities and failed to capitalise on the few chances they had.
Bournemouth 2-1 Man City
In a shocking turn of events, Bournemouth humbled Manchester City. City started off in control, but Bournemouth's aggressive pressing made them vulnerable. Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring for Bournemouth, who then wasted several chances before Evanilson added a second. City managed to pull one back through Joško Gvardiol, but it wasn't enough to prevent their first defeat in 32 games.
