    Director And Assistant To The ProVice Chancellor [Academic Affairs] [3 Year Contract Renewable Subject To Satisfactory Performance] 
    Reports to : Pro-Vice Chancellor(AcademicAffairs)

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinating and managing activities in the Pro Vice Chancellor’s office as assigned;

    • Carrying out research which could assist in decision making in Academic Affairs;

    • Facilitating effective liaison between the Pro Lice Chancellor and the entire University community, particularly the Faculties and Regional Campuses;

    • Keeping and updating data relating to the Faculties and Regional Campuses;

    • Follow up on issues as assigned by the ProVice Chancellor

    • Writing reports and speeches as required;

    • Any other duties that may be assigned by the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Masters Degree in Education, Business Administration or Social Sciences;

    • A PhD in Education, Business Administration or Social Sciences is a distinct advantage;

    • Five (5) years post qualification experience at an institution of higher learning as an academic, administrator, researcher or learning specialist.

    Skills and Competencies
    • An understanding of University governance;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication;
    • High level computer literacy;
    • Good analytical and negotiation skills;
    • Confidentiality and loyalty to the objects of the University:
    • Integrity to promote the image of the Office and the University at large;
    • Computer literacy a must
