Police Officer Crushed To Death By Mshika Shika Driver

A Mshika-shika driver ran over and killed a police officer near Simon Muzenda Street (4th) on 16/11/20 at around 1530 hours.

The vehicle, a Mitsubishi Canter, was picking up hitchhiking passengers at an undesignated point when a police officer approached him.

The driver then attempted to flee and ran over the officer who died on the spot. The driver did not stop and fled the scene. Police are appealing to members of the public with information about the incident to come forward.

Transport woes have plagued the capital with Zupco failing to cater for all passengers. As a result, commuters have resorted to hitchhiking for private vehicles.
