The unamusing sextape has got netizens questioning the reasoning behind recording the material.
It is yet to be ascertained how the home made video got into the public domain but precedence suggests that this could be another incident of revenge porn.
Several such footages have surfaced and some have found themselves online in recent months and many of them are linked to socialites and social media influencers some of whom stand to benefit from the leaks.
This is also an emerging trend among influencers in South Africa – Cyan Boujee and Lungelo Mpangase, Nigeria – Moyo Lawal, Uganda – Christine Nampeera – who seem desperate to stay relevant.
Globally, celebrities have largely turned to hypersexualised fashion.
However, the motive behind the recording and leaking of the unamusing NUST sextape remains unknown as the entities involved are unknowns.
