Kaaraidze shared his painful story at Chief Mutasa’s community court, leaving the crowd stunned. He recounted how his wife disappeared from their home in April. After months of searching, he found her living just 30 kilometres away, cohabiting with Naison.
Despite hearing rumours about her unfaithfulness, Kaaraidze chose to ignore them due to his deep love for her. In hindsight, he admitted he should have been suspicious when she asked for his bank cards.
Despite rumours that my wife was being promiscuous, I chose to ignore them, believing that our bond was still intact.
I should have been suspicious when she demanded my bank cards and withdrew all my savings, but I was not because I loved her so much.
Shortly after his wife disappeared, Kaaraidze lost his job, forcing him to move back to his rural home in Mutarazi. He eventually found a new job in Mazowe, but while working there, concerned relatives and friends kept calling, asking about his wife. She had been telling people she was visiting him, but she never showed up.

One day, Kaaraidze made an unexpected trip home, and a week later, his wife returned. She explained her absence by saying she had left because she felt lonely at the rural home. When Kaaraidze was later transferred to Nyanga, he was informed that his wife had disappeared again.
After months of searching, he finally tracked her down to Sarupinda, where he came face to face with his former best friend, Naison. When Kaaraidze asked Naison if he had seen his wife, Naison lied, claiming he hadn’t.
However, locals in the village exposed the truth, confirming that Maitirei had indeed moved in with Naison.
It was then that I realised that my wife had moved in with Naison. I called Naison, and asked him about it, but he dismissed the claims as unsubstantiated rumours.
Knowing that I was searching for my wife, Naison relocated her to Rusape. However, after a month, I received another call informing me that she had returned to Sarupinda.
During this time, Maitirei would call Kaaraidze from a private number, assuring him that she would come back home, claiming she was working. When Kaaraidze returned to Sarupinda, he was devastated to find his wife living with Naison.
Maitirei defended her actions, claiming they had already parted ways in April. She added that Kaaraidze had given her a divorce token.
