ZERA deals with misbehaving fuel service station
Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority has recently dealt with Maps Fuel Station charged with breach of license conditions
Maps fuel stations in Mufakose and Harare were shut down following the complaints by motorists that the service station was demanding cash only as a means of payment.
This is a fulfillment of the threat that ZERA had given to misbehaving fuel service stations a few months ago after service stations were refusing electronic payments.
This is not the first time that ZERA is taking action as some service stations were shut down last month which includes Ruyamuro service stations in Glendale, Harare, and Nzvimbo Growth Point in Chiweshe for rejecting alternative payment methods.
ZERA Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Eddington Mazambani commented on this issue
“It is a license condition that all forms of payments should be customers at all retail sites”, he said.
