Gems beat Zambia at Africa Netball Cup
Gems beat Zambia at Africa Netball Cup. Zimbabwe Netball team, the Gems have won their third match after beating neighbours, Zambia 57-51 in the ongoing Africa Netball Cup in Bellville Velodrome, Cape Town, South Africa on Monday.
Speaking after the match, Gems assistant coach, Ropafadzo Mutsauki, who is standing in for the absent Lloyd Makunde, said that he was impressed by the team’s performance. He said:
We played as a team and managed to utilise our chances well. We played a slow game but made sure that every chance we got we converted. We are now looking forward to our match against Malawi, they are a good side and we will try by all means to play our normal game.
The Gems had a false start at the tournament as they were walked over by Uganda in the opening match and before losing to hosts, South Africa. They, however, returned to winning ways by defeating Lesotho and Kenya and now Zambia.
