Liverpool Has Signed a Multi-year Kit Deal with Nike
Liverpool has signed a multi-year kit deal with Nike starting from next season. The £30m-a-year partnership will begin on June 1 2020, following the conclusion of their deal with New Balance at the end of the current campaign.
Nike will kit out Liverpool’s men’s, women’s and youth teams, plus the Liverpool FC Foundation. Their new kit agreement will begin as the club moves into a brand new training facility in Kirkby.
Liverpool managing director and chief commercial officer Billy Hogan said: “Our iconic kit is a key part of our history and identity. We welcome Nike into the LFC family as our new official kit supplier and expect them to be an incredible partner for the club, both at home and globally as we continue to expand our fanbase.
As a brand, Nike reflects our ambitions for growth, and we look forward to working with them to bring fans new and exciting products.
Liverpool’s current supplier New Balance launched a legal battle after the club made steps to find a new kit deal. The Boston-based sportswear company argued that they had the right to retain Liverpool as a customer if they could match the terms of any fresh offer, but the case was dismissed by the High Court, freeing Liverpool to bring Nike on board from June.
The new partnership marks the end of a five-year spell with New Balance. We’d like to thank New Balance for their support over the last few years and wish them well for the future,” added Hogan.
