Suspected ritual killers are reported to be using gas to drug people at 5 AM and then they enter the house and kill the occupants.
Zambia’s President Edgar Chagwa Lungu has deployed Zambia’s military to deal with the ritual killings that have rampantly increased in the neighbouring country.
Said Lungu, “I want all citizens to be assured that I will do everything it takes to protect you as that is my number one responsibility. I have since ordered the Zambia Army to move in immediately and control the gassing situation.”
Lungu further warned the perpetrators that the law enforcement agents are moving in on them. He offered a reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
“I am warning those behind the gassing of innocent citizens in selected parts of the Country that their days are numbered. Whatever your motivation, we are closing in on you. We will find you and you will pay for your criminal activities.
“To all those daring me as President, you will have yourselves to blame when I act and no one will speak for you. You cannot injure society and expect to go free. Let me restate that there is K250,000 cash to anyone with any information on people behind this menace.”
Lungu has also made4 a passionate plea to Zambian to seek God’s face during the trying times Read his full statement below:
Fellow Citizens,
As a nation dedicated to God, I am asking each one of you to take time and pray for Zambia’s protection, love, unity, peace and prosperity. Pray and action are inseparable.
I am calling on the various prayer networks across the nation to stand in the gap and petition God almighty for divine intervention against all forms of machinations formed against the interests of our land. I strongly believe the God who answers by fire will prevail on all matters that we have brought before him.
As a Christian Nation, it is our duty to seek the face of God through prayer. We have sought God’s intervention before in matters affecting us. It is equally imperative to do so now that we are aspiring for peace and security in our homes and neighbourhoods.
I am confident that according to his word in Isaiah 54:17 which says “no weapon formed against you will prosper…”. Indeed, we shall overcome every attack and obstacle in the name of Jesus Christ.
I call upon all well-meaning, God-fearing Zambians to continue lifting our nation in prayer. I say pray without ceasing according to 1Thessalonians 5:17.
As your Republican President, I have a duty to defend and uphold peace. The army and police are on the ground to protect you. I call on you all to continue cooperating with them by volunteering any information. By working together as a nation, we shall overcome!
God Bless Mother Zambia, Amen.
