Some COVID19 Test Kits Are Defective Says Ministry Of Health & Child Care
Minister of Health and Child Care Dr Obadiah Moyo said some of the testing kits in Zimbabwe are defective. He however emphasised that the defective testing kits were not used in Zimbabwe hence there is no reason to panic.
The Ministry also castigated Dailynews for their alarming headline:
The United States, UK , Spain, Netherlands and Italy are among the countries to have recalled defective test kits from Spain.
It announced it had bought hundreds of thousands of tests to combat the virus, but revealed in the following days that nearly 60,000 could not accurately determine if a patient had the virus.
The Chinese embassy in Spain tweeted that the company behind the kits, Shenzhen Bioeasy Biotechnology, did not have an official license from Chinese medical authorities to sell its products.
It is suspected that the donation from the Alibaba group includes products from Shenzhen Bioeasy.
According to People’s Daily China, China has exported: – 3.86 billion masks – 37.52 million protective suits – 2.41 million infrared thermometers – 16,000 ventilators – 2.84 million testing kits – 8.41 million goggles.
