Chitungwiza Hospital Gives Directive That All Staff Members Will Not Be Served Food To Observe The National Prayer & Fasting Day
Chitungwiza Hospital gave a directive that all staff members will not be served food for everyone to observe the national prayer and fasting decree by president Emmerson Mnangagwa.
In a memorandum addressed to all Heads of Departments and Ward Managers and All Employees the hospital management said the food was only to be served to patients.
Reads the memorandum:
SUBJECT: NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING JUNE 15, 2020
Today, the Government has proclaimed that it be the day of National Prayer and Fasting. In accordance with the above proclamation, the Kitchen is hereby directed to serve food to patients only and not to staff members. Sterner measures will be taken against those taking advantage of patients’ food so please note. Please note that this directive should be religiously adhered to.

President declared 15 June a National Day for Prayer and Fasting to ask God to intervene in the country’s crises including the coronavirus pandemic that has engulfed the whole world.
He also said God had to heal the country’s economic and humanitarian crisis characterised by inflation, hunger, fuel shortages and the collapse of all sectors of the economy.
