Form Six Student Arrested For Raping Neighbour’s 13 Year Old Daughter
An 18-year-old Bindura based form six student was arrested for raping his 13-year-old neighbour's daughter.
The suspect who cannot be named for ethical reasons appeared before a Bindura magistrate yesterday facing a charge of rape and pleaded not guilty to raping her 13-year-old neighbour before magistrate Maria Msika.
Prosecutor Thembinkosi Mananga alleged on June 11 the complainant went to the suspect's house to be assisted with her school work.
The suspect was with his sister whom he ordered to go and check on her child who was playing by the road.
When the suspect's sister left he locked the door from inside and threatened the complainant before raping her once without protection.
The matter came to light when the complainant arrived at her mother's homestead crying.
She revealed the alleged rape to her leading to the suspect's arrest.
He was remanded in custody to June 26 for trial.
