Government Turn Down Private Schools Request To Open Early
The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Minister Cain Mathema revealed that the government has turned down the request by private schools to open early before 28 July after a closed-door meeting with Zimbabwe Independent Private Schools Association yesterday.
Mathema said:
The private and independent schools initiated the meeting and l was very happy. They came to present how ready they are, their state of preparedness when schools re-open. Some of the schools are even manufacturing face masks and sanitisers,
Zimbabwe Independent Private Schools Association chairperson Mrs Salome Mutsinze also confirmed the meeting and said
The agenda was to appraise the ministry on the degree of preparedness of safe reopening of our member schools in a phased approach starting with examination classes.
In line with the WHO guidelines on the fight against Covid-19 pandemic some of the highlights on safety procedures and precautions to be enforced include all staff and learners should undergo rapid testing
