Watch: Illegal Gold Miners Trapped In Bindura After Shafts Collapses
Approximately 30 illegal miners are trapped in an old disused mine in Bindura after the mine shaft collapsed late on Wednesday afternoon.
The announcement was made by Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services permanent secretary Nick Mangwana on his Twitter account. He said;
Mash Central A tragedy has occurred at Ran Mine in Bindura town late this afternoon. A deep disused mine trench has caved in trapping several illegal gold miners. Exact number not yet established. So far 6 miners have been rescued. Details to follow but numbers could be circa 30

Cases of illegal miners getting trapped in shafts happen from time to time. Last December, four miners died after they were trapped in a shaft in Esigodini.
Two gold panners died after being trapped in a mine shaft as well.
