Veteran Actress Mai Sorobhi Dies

Veteran television actress, Rhoda Mtembe, popularly known as Mai Sorobhi in the yesteryear hit drama series “Paraffin”, has died. She was 79.

A very sad day for Zimbabwe as Rhoda Mtembe is reported to have died today in the morning around 5 am.

She acted in the popular local drama Paraffin as Mai Sorobhi,  wife to Paraffin and they were one of the best entertainers.

The news of the late actress’s death was confirmed by Kuwadzana West Member of Parliament Johnson Matambo.

Mai Sorobhi’s grandchild, popular comedian, Admire “Bhutisi” Kuzhangaira, also confirmed the sad news. Bhutisi said that his grandmother had died after succumbing to a stroke in the early hours of Monday.
