Charismatic preacher and United Family International Church, UFIC leader Emmanuel Makandiwa has been caught up in a corruption storm. Zimbabwean citizens are angry at the preacher over a video that has gone viral over the weekend on social media in which he is seen preaching on corruption to his congregants. The UFIC leader is seen telling his congregants to be grateful to the government for the current levels of corruption otherwise it would have been worse.

Another concerned citizen, Tino Mabwe described the man of cloth as a scam.

Another felt that Makandiwa was preaching against corruption and exposing Zanu PF-led government in a “safe way”. It has become dangerous for preachers to open call out the government on its failings and maybe the prophet was encouraging them in a less confrontational way.

However, others feel the preacher is singing for his supper and is in bed with the government and so could not openly reprimand his comrades. On occasion, the UFIC leader put his weight behind President Mnangagwa's government and even prophesied that the 80-year-old leader would win the upcoming 2023 elections.
