The Mdingi Senior Secondary teacher in Eastern Cape, South Africa was suspended after a Grade 9 learner reported the incidents to his parents, who later made the school aware of the allegations. The incident has sparked a huge outcry with many questioning why the teacher was harvesting the semen from the young learners.
The claims have sparked the interest of Lusikisiki community members and traditionalists as to the reasons for the “semen collection”. A traditional healer in the area, Gogo Phumla Radebe said that the teacher could be using the “male seed” for sacrificial purposes or could be selling the seed to a male reproductive centre.
“What does he do with it? He can’t collect it for pleasure… Others collect body parts, that’s why we must tell people the truth that human body parts don’t heal. The police must get to the bottom of this story,” she said.
It is still not clear if the teacher will face criminal charges.
