Senzo Meyiwa’s Murderers Celebrated with Booze

A state witness delivered a shocking revelation in the case surrounding the murder of soccer star Senzo Meyiwa.

Constable Sizwe Skhumbuzo Zungu, the key witness, provided crucial insights that shed light on the events before and after the tragic murder.

Constable Zungu testified that the night of Senzo Meyiwa’s untimely death on October 26, 2014, saw the accused individuals celebrating his death with a bottle of whisky.

Constable Zungu, originally from KwaZulu-Natal, emphasized his familiarity with some of the accused individuals from their shared hometown.

He also recognized others from the Vosloorus hostel where the tragic events took place.

His testimony unequivocally established the presence of all five accused individuals at the hostel, both before and after Senzo Meyiwa’s murder, highlighting their connections.

The five accused individuals—Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa, and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli—are facing a battery of serious charges in connection with the case.

He recounted spending time with the accused individuals earlier in the day, engaging in drinking and socializing. Later in the evening, he observed their hurried return to the hostel.

Constable Zungu detailed the moment when Sibiya and Mncube entered a room in the hostel carrying firearms. Sibiya had a .38 revolver, while Mncube possessed a 9mm pistol.

Zungu highlighted that Ntanzi, one of the accused, changed his attire, switching from a black jacket to a grey one while wearing a hoodie.

This fact corresponds with earlier eyewitness accounts that had identified Ntanzi as one of the intruders on the night of the murder.

Constable Zungu revealed that later in the night, Sibiya removed his red shirt, stood on an object, and held a bottle while asking those present if they had heard the news of Senzo Meyiwa’s demise.
