Churchmate Nicks Shop Owner's Shaving Machine
A trail of footprints sold out a 24-year-old man from Nyamandlovu, Matabeleland North province who broke into his churchmate’s house and stole a shaving machine and cash.
This was heard when Obert Phiri appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa facing a charge of theft.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded to 31 October for sentencing.
The court heard that on 8 October, Nonduzo Mpofu went to Bulawayo, leaving her husband in charge of the homestead and she returned on 10 October.
On 12 October, Mpofu discovered that US$50 she had hidden under the mattress was missing, arousing her suspicions.
It is reported that on 20 October, Sibanda noticed that her living room window was broken and reported the matter to the village head.
On 28 October, Sibanda realised that her locked tuck shop had also been opened and her cashbox was missing.

She saw footprints outside the shop and informed her husband.
Sibanda’s husband and other men tracked the footprints which led them to Phiri’s homestead.
When they arrived, they recovered Sibanda’s shaving machine, the damaged cashbox, 60 rand, and one dollar.
The team apprehended Phiri and took him to the police.
