The Zimbabwean man who killed his employer and her nine-year-old son in cold blood has refused to get a lawyer.

He has opted to defend himself in his murder case.

37-year-old Pardon Danhire, a Zimbabwean national employed as a gardener, was arrested for murdering his employer, Nadine Terblanche (32), and her son, Ruandré Vorster (9).

Danhire reportedly used an axe to kill them in their own home on November 27th.

Authorities found both Nadine and her nine-year-old son with bruises and injuries, declaring them dead at the scene.

Nadine’s boyfriend, who discovered their bodies, narrowly escaped an axe attack by Danhire. He quickly alerted CPS Security, who promptly responded and apprehended Danhire.

Facing a double murder charge, Danhire’s motive for the crime remains unknown.

Pardon Danhire appeared in the Palmridge Magistrate Court’s District Criminal Court on November 30 regarding the murder of his employer and her nine-year-old son.

During his court appearance, in a packed Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, Danhire adamantly told Magistrate D Booysen that he didn’t want a lawyer to represent him.

According to News24, despite Magistrate D Booysen calling on Danhire to use legal counsel, he still insisted on conducting his own defence.

Additionally, Danhire declared that he did not wish for bail and consequently abandoned his bail application. Danhire remains in custody as the legal process unfolds.

The murder case has been postponed to January 3, 2024, for further investigation.
