A cunning entrepreneur, Gina Masanga, hailing from Beitbridge, finds himself embroiled in a tangled web of deceit, accused of defrauding the unsuspecting Allen Badzarigere of a substantial sum.
The duplicitous deal, worth a staggering US$21,000, was initially disguised as a legitimate transaction, wherein Masanga was entrusted to procure a luxurious Mercedes Benz on behalf of his client.
However, the unscrupulous businessman allegedly received the funds in two installments, totaling US$14,500, via his sister, and a further US$6,900 personally, only to brazenly appropriate the money for his own nefarious purposes.
As the truth began to unravel, Masanga's demeanor transformed from affable to evasive, culminating in his outright refusal to engage with his client, who, in desperation, sought the intervention of the authorities.

Subsequently, Masanga was released on a modest bail of US$150, having spent a solitary night in the confines of the remand prison, a fleeting glimpse into the consequences of his alleged wrongdoing.
Meanwhile…
A 37-year-old woman appeared before a Masvingo magistrate facing charges of selling pills without prescription.
Margaret Maseka was fined US$500, with an alternative of paying an equivalent amount in ZiG by May 31, failure to do so will result in a two-month imprisonment.
Maseka pleaded guilty.
Allegations are that Maseka was found with a stash of pills in her handbag which was discovered during a police search of her belongings.
Subsequent investigations revealed that she did not have a valid prescription from a doctor, indicating that she was unauthorised to sell the medication.
