Tenderpreneurs Chimombe and Mpofu Avail Themselves to ZACC

Notorious tenderpreneurs, Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe have now presented themselves at the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission offices by appointment.

Tenderpreneur Chivayo Reveals His Whereabouts

The duo and their colleague Wicknell Chivayo are embroiled in government tender scandals involving procurement deals for the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) where the tender was granted under mysterious circumstances and the prices were allegedly heavily inflated.

The ZEC scandal came to light after the trio had a fallout over sharing of proceeds from the US$40 million loot. Subsequently letters to a South African partner in the deal Ren-Form company, quotations and payments made were leaked to the public.

Further damaging evidence emerged in the form of leaked audios of Wicknell Chivayo in which he was supposedly discussing the matter with the two. Chivayo has since denied the allegations as have ZEC and Ren-Form.

Chimombe and Mpofu are further implicated in another looting scandal involving the Presidential Goat Scheme. They presented themselves today to answer questions over the alleged money laundering in ZEC election tenders. They also face charges of misappropriating ZWL$1.6 billion meant for buying goats.

Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu have since left the ZACC offices after attending an interview with their lawyer Tapson Dzvetero, who said:

“We just presented our clients to ZACC who indicated that they will call us when they need us. My clients are willing to assist with any investigation.”

ZACC to Probe Chimombe-Chivhayo-Mpofu Dealings

As has become the norm, while Jameson Timba and 78 CCC activists who were arrested and brutalised at a private function are being denied bail, Chimombe and Mpofu are invited for interviews and they get to drive back home freely.
