Sunday Reflections: Shepherding God's Flock
In 2 Kings 4:42-44, we read the story of Elisha, a prophet, who miraculously multiplies a small amount of food to feed a hundred people. A man brings Elisha twenty loaves of barley bread and some fresh grain, and Elisha instructs him to distribute it to the people. Miraculously, everyone eats and has some left over.
We see God's abundance and provision. Even when resources seem scarce, God can multiply what we have to meet our needs and bless others.
In Ephesians 4:1-6, the apostle Paul is writing to the Ephesian Christians, urging them to live in unity and love. He emphasizes the importance of humility, gentleness, patience, and bearing with one another.
Sunday Reflections: Jesus Our Ultimate Source of Nourishment
The reading emphasizes on unity in the body of Christ. We are called to maintain the bond of peace, recognizing that we are part of a larger family—the Church. Our shared faith in Jesus unites us, and we should treat one another with kindness and understanding.
In the gospel of John 6:1-15, Jesus feeds a large crowd by multiplying five barley loaves and two fish. This miracle demonstrates His compassion and power. Afterward, the people recognize Him as the Prophet and want to make Him king.
Here, John shows us that Jesus is the Bread of Life. Just as He physically fed the hungry crowd, Jesus satisfies our spiritual hunger. He offers eternal life and invites us to trust in Him.
