Gay Man Shot 9 Times After J'burg Bar Hookup
Last Sunday, Clement Hadebe (29) hung out with his mates and got together with a guy who later gave him a lift home. But the next day, the man, originally from Madadeni in Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal, was tragically found shot nine times at a BnB in Johannesburg.
It is believed that Hadebe met his alleged killer at the popular KwaMai Mai Market in downtown Johannesburg, where the guy treated him to some drinks.
Hadebe's friend, who prefers to stay anonymous, mentioned that the guy and his two pals joined them at their table. “They offered to buy us drinks. We couldn't say no to free booze,” the friend said. He said when one of the men showed interests in Hadebe, he advised him to tell the guy that he was gay.
“I could tell that the guy is straight, but Hadebe just played along. When he asked Hadebe to go home with him, I again called him to the side and begged him to reveal his sexuality, but he brushed me off,” the friend said.

Another friend said that he left with the men and Hadebe in their car, but on their way to the hostel in Jules, where the men stay, he was ordered to jump off the car as they only wanted to be with Hadebe again.
According to the friend, Hadebe was found shot nine times the next day, allegedly by the man who had left with him the night before.
Another friend said that they believe that the man killed Hadebe after he realised that he was gay. “The guy spent a lot of money on us, and he was sure that he took a woman home. He even booked a room at a bed and breakfast place,” added.
“We thought that he was straight,” the friend said. “But that did not give him the right to kill. He could have just let him go. What he did is horrible. I pray that he rots in jail for this horrific crime. Hadebe was a lovely person who loved life; he did not deserve this,” said the friend.
