Harare, Zimbabwe – A kombi conductor who stole a phone from a dead woman at a fatal accident has been jailed for one year. In a twist of fate, the conductor, Terrence Mavheneke, was caught after the person he sold the phone to implicated him.
The incident occurred on August 13 when Christabella Makwanya, a commuter, was killed in a multiple-car collision at the intersection of Seke and St Patrick’s roads. Mavheneke, who was nearby, rushed to the scene and took advantage of the chaos to steal Makwanya's phone.

Meanwhile, a parked Swiss Bus moved and crushed a man to death at the Beitbridge Border Post last night. The bus had parked at the border post and was awaiting the processing of its papers so it could proceed to the South African side.
The bus allegedly moved from its parking spot with no driver on the steering wheel. It then started rolling and ran over a man who was in its path. It dragged him along the road, squeezing him to the ground for a short distance. The victim got stuck under the heavy vehicle after it ran over him.
