Former One Direction member Liam Payne has died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The 31-year-old singer, who had been in Argentina to support his former bandmate Niall Horan, was reportedly staying at a hotel on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo district when tragedy struck on Wednesday.
According to Buenos Aires police, officers were called to the scene after receiving a 911 report about an aggressive man, possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The statement didn’t name the man as Payne, but shortly after, his death was confirmed.
The shocking news comes just days after Payne was seen at Horan’s concert in the city on October 2, where he appeared in good spirits.

Payne had recently celebrated his 31st birthday in the UK, and had been documenting his life on Snapchat, giving fans a glimpse into his world.
Born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, he was the youngest of three siblings and studied music technology at the City of Wolverhampton College before finding fame.
Payne shot to stardom in 2010 as part of One Direction, the global boyband sensation that formed on “The X Factor.” Alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Horan, Payne’s life was forever changed as the group quickly became one of the biggest pop acts in history.
