Brothers and sisters, let us open our hearts to the comforting truth: Jesus listens to us. In the midst of our joys and sorrows, our triumphs and failures, our doubts and longings, He is near. He hears our cries, understands our whispers, and attends to the unspoken yearnings of our souls.
Sunday Reflections: God's Kingdom is Like a Mustard Seed
In Isaiah 53:10-11, the prophet, paints a poignant picture of the Suffering Servant, unjustly condemned and misunderstood. Yet, even in His deepest anguish, this servant's soul is poured out as a drink offering. This image speaks of Jesus' complete self-giving, His unwavering love for us, even when we turn away. It is a testament to His all-encompassing presence, always listening, always ready to intercede.
Hebrews 4:14-16 echoes this sentiment, reminding us that we have a High Priest, Jesus Christ, who understands our weaknesses. He has been tempted in every way, yet remained without sin. This empathy allows Him to sympathize with our struggles, to enter into our pain, and to offer compassionate understanding. He is not a distant, aloof figure, but a friend who walks beside us, listening to our hearts and offering solace.

In today's Gospel reading from Mark10:35-45, we witness the sons of Zeb'edee James and John, ambitious for power and glory, seeking the places of honour at Jesus' right and left. Their request reveals a misunderstanding of the kingdom of God, a realm not of earthly dominion but of humble service. Jesus gently corrects them, reminding them that true greatness lies in serving others, not in being served.
Jesus listens to us, not because He is powerless or distant, but because He is love incarnate. His listening presence is a source of comfort, strength, and guidance. In His kingdom, there is no room for arrogance or self-promotion. Instead, we are called to embrace humility, to serve others with compassion, and to live lives that reflect His love.
Palm Sunday Reflections: Jesus Christ the Suffering Servant
Let us open our hearts to Jesus' listening presence. Let us share our joys and sorrows, our hopes and fears with Him. And let us respond to His call to service, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to build a kingdom of justice, peace, and compassion. Amen.
