Felix Maphosa, a resident of Gaza E, Chipinge, recently appeared before the Chipinge Magistrates’ Court on charges of murder following the shocking events that unfolded on December 31, 2024.
According to the court reports shared by the NPA, the incident stemmed from a heated argument between Maphosa and his wife.

The conflict allegedly began when Maphosa discovered that his wife had been using birth control pills without informing him.
This discovery reportedly escalated tensions, leading to a violent confrontation between the couple.
In a fit of rage, Maphosa is accused of striking his wife three times on the head with an iron bar.

Tragically, the violence did not end there. Prosecutors allege that Maphosa used a hammer to drive a nail into her chest, inflicting fatal injuries.
After the brutal attack, Maphosa reportedly left the scene to visit a local beer hall.
The following morning, Maphosa returned home only to find his wife unresponsive and deceased.
The discovery prompted law enforcement authorities to arrest him, leading to his subsequent court appearance on charges of murder.
During his initial court appearance, Maphosa was remanded in custody. He is expected to remain detained until January 17, 2025, pending further legal proceedings.
The court advised him to seek bail by applying to the High Court.
