Singer Naledi Aphiwe Humbly Apologises to Gatsheni

Singer Naledi Aphiwe has issued an apology to maskandi star Gatsheni after a chaotic incident at Mthandeni's Summer Experience in KwaZulu-Natal on January 4.

During the event, Naledi (18), was met with fierce resistance from the crowd when she jumped on stage to perform her hit song Ubaba Ulala Nami while Gatsheni and his dancers were still on stage.

I offer a heartfelt apology to Gatsheni and his team. It was never my intention to cause any disruption or disrespect, especially to such a respected and established artist in the maskandi community. I acknowledge my actions were inconsiderate and I deeply regret the way I conducted myself on stage.

“I respect the values of this community and I will take this time to reflect on my actions and ensure I grow as an artist and individual moving forward. I understand the path to success is not just about talent but also about maturity, respect and collaboration. I take full responsibility for my actions and I am committed to working on myself during this time.

“To my supporters, I ask for your understanding and support as I continue on this journey. I know I have room to improve and I promise to use this experience as a stepping stone to becoming a better person.”
