22 Youths Arrested at Chegutu Vuzu Party
In a major step forward in the fight against drug and substance abuse, Mashonaland West police have arrested 22 young people at a wild vuzu party in Chegutu where illegal substances were being used.
The raid, which took place after a tip-off from the community, highlights the growing efforts to tackle youth drug abuse in the area.

The party was organised by 23-year-old Tinashe Kamunda from Rifle Range, who created WhatsApp group links to promote the event.
According to Provincial Acting Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Effort Chapoto, Kamunda charged $2 for boys and $1 for girls to attend, with an extra $5 for alcohol per person.

Police received information that drugs were being used at the party and quickly moved in. During the raid, 15 boys and 7 girls were arrested.
A search of the property uncovered stubs of smoked dagga (marijuana), unused condoms, alcohol, and shisha-smoking equipment.
“Searches were conducted around the house and it resulted in the recovery of stubs of smoked dagga, unused condoms, some liquor, and Shisha-smoking equipment,” the police said.
Chapoto confirmed that Kamunda was charged with disorderly conduct and fined, while the other youths were also fined and released into the care of their parents or guardians.
