Bulawayo Woman Dies After Drinking A Concoction At Traditional Healers Shrine
A Bulawayo woman died at the traditional healer’s shrine after she drank a concoction given to her by the healer, The Chronicle reports.
Belinda Sibanda died in Douglasdale at the home of the traditional healer Belinda Musiyiwa. Musiyiwa who is also a Bulawayo Polytechnic College examination board member was arrested for culpable homicide.
The incident was confirmed by Bulawayo acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele who said.
At the moment we cannot say much as investigations are still in progress. However, the suspect has been arrested and is assisting police with investigations
This is probably a second or third incident where clients have lost their lives upon visiting a traditional healer or self-proclaimed prophets. Although we cannot discourage members of the public from approaching these groups for their spiritual issues, we urge them to exercise caution in dealing with them.
We also urge faith-based healers to take extra precaution in administering medication to their clients. It’s very unfortunate that some people are losing lives in the process of getting help from them
Belinda’s body was taken to UBH for postmortem.
