From having no Shoes to wear to School to building one of the leading Sneaker brands in Africa.
Lekau Sehoana is an inspirational Founder and CEO of Drip Footwear, a leading South African footwear brand offering authentic African high quality and stylish unisex SNEAKERS.
It all started back in 2003 while Lekau was doing Grade 8, he was given an old torn Pair of Sneakers because he didn't have any Shoes to wear to a School Function. He removed the torn part and redesigned the Sneakers using Denim and Polyurethane.
The Sneakers became a hit and people started ordering them. Sehoana then made an entry into the Shoe Making business and exchanged Pain with Profit, for the next 5 Years of his High School.
After fews years of hustling; in 2019, the commercial brand was born and he named it ‘Drip Footwear' offering authentic African high quality and stylish unisex SNEAKERS.
Lekau Sehoana was raised in Ivory Park informal settlement, Johannesburg. Growing up in a less privileged community, he had to make the most out of what he had, which sparked innovation and creativity. Today his brand ‘Drip Footwear' gives away school shoes to people who are like him some 18 years ago when he started.
With 20 retail stores across South Africa, over 130 employees and no investors, Lekau Sehoana has surely succeeded against all odds.
