Magistrate Sentenced To One Year For Accepting US$20 Bribe
A Karoi magistrate, Amanda Muridzo, has been sentenced to one year in prison after she accepted a US$20 bribe.
Muridzo aged 31 was sentenced to one-year imprisonment together with the clerk of court Shelter Kachira and David Mazowi who paid the bribe.
Muridzo and Kachira were sentenced to one-year imprisonment and 6 months were suspended on account that they don't repeat the same offence in the next 5 years.
On 27 August, Sinafi Chidoko the ex-wife of Mazowi approached the court with a 250usd maintenance claim for her two children in which Kachira and Mazowi convinced Muridzo to influence court findings.
Sinafi Chidoko was given heads-up by an anonymous person òn how the maintenance case was being handled.
