Police in Limpopo have arrested a woman who allegedly shot and killed her husband yesterday at their rented home in Elansdoom village, outside Dennilton.
It's alleged that the woman became enraged when she found out that her husband was cheating with one of the women who was renting a room at the same place they were renting as well.
Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said preliminary information revealed that the dispute between the couple ensued on Monday morning around 6:00 AM after the suspect found out about her husband's infidelity.
Ledwaba said that after finding out of her husband's cheating, she fetched her husband's licensed firearm and started firing several shots at him while he was trying to escape.
“Unfortunately, the 32-year-old victim was shot and he collapsed on the street. The police and emergency medical services were called to the scene and upon arrival, they found the victim lying in a pool of blood and he was certified dead,” Ledwaba said.

The firearm believed to have been used to commit the crime was found on the scene and was confiscated for further investigation.
Police preliminary investigations also revealed that the couple is originally from KwaZulu Natal and that they are both educators at different schools around Dennilton.
“The identity of the deceased will be released in due course,” Ledwaba added.
Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, highlighted the continuous struggle against gender-based violence in the province, urging communities to seek professional help to resolve relationship issues instead of resorting to violence.
The suspect will soon appear before Moutse Magistrates Court facing a charge of murder soon. Police investigations are still continuing.
