Burglar Cleans House Before Leaving Cheery Note
Monmouthshire, Wales – On a balmy July 16th, a burglar, who clearly had a flair for the domestic arts, broke into a woman's house. But instead of making off with the family silver, he decided to channel his inner Mary Poppins.
The homeowner, Mrs. Jenkins, returned from her evening stroll to find her house in a state of immaculate cleanliness. The floors were spotless, the dishes were washed and neatly stacked, and the laundry was not only done but also dried and folded with military precision.

The aroma of a freshly cooked meal wafted through the air, and on the dining table, a note was left, reading, “Don’t worry, be happy, eat up and scratch.”

Mrs. Jenkins, understandably, did not share the burglar's sense of humour. “I lived in constant fear after the incident,” she later confessed. “I didn’t know if the intruder knew me personally or if this was the start of something more threatening. It made me afraid to stay at home alone, so I moved in with a friend.”
The police, baffled by this peculiar case, eventually caught up with the domestic delinquent. On July 29th, the same burglar attempted a second break-in but was thwarted by the homeowner’s CCTV system. The footage showed the burglar, apparently intoxicated and holding a drink, trying to gain entry.
The homeowner’s son-in-law, who had been alerted by the CCTV, arrived just in time to find the burglar red-handed before he promptly escorted him to the police station.
In court, the judge, struggling to keep a straight face, sentenced the man to 22 months in prison for his unusual crime.
