Chief Charumbira fired from Pan-African parliament.
Former president of the Zimbabwe Council of Chiefs, Fortune Charumbira has been fired from the presidency of the Pan-African parliament.
Leaked: Chief Charumbira Touched Niece's Privates
Chief Charumbira was elected President of the the African Union PA Parliament amid pomp and funfair. He has been dishonorably fired for embezzling African Union funds.
He faces corruption charges involving over US$1.2 Million. It is alleged that Charumbira spent $45,000 of institutional funds on one trip to Cairo. Most of it spent on his large staff to support his illegal change of rules.
He had served only one third of his term. Charumbira's portrait has since been pulled down from the PAP Bureau.
Dr Gayo from Ethiopia is now Acting President. The Pan-African Parliament are set to hold fresh elections.
Fortunate Charumbira is not new to controversy as back in Zimbabwe, he is caught up in a sexual abuse scandal involving his niece.
The chief is accused of sexually assaulting his niece by allegedly touching her privates and pestering her for sex.
