RBZ’s Failure To Introduce New Currency On Time Sparks Public Outrage
Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe's (RBZ) failure to release the new currency which was expected to be in circulation with effect from 11 November has brought about public outrage.
RBZ has been making excuses prior to the introduction of the new currency as it was said that they couldn't release the new banknotes yesterday because they had very poor security features.
People have lost confidence in the system especially the financial sector.
RBZ Governor Dr. Jonh Mangudya's recent confirmation that banks will start issuing the new notes and coins today has made the situation worse after they kept quiet on the matter and failed to meet the deadline.
