Check Out All The Zimbabwe Music Awards 2020 Winners
The eighth edition of the Zimbabwe Music Awards were held at Newlands Country Club in Harare on 25 January 2020 after a four-year break.
Freeman the HKD Boss, was the biggest winner. He took home three awards, in the Best Album of the Year, Zimdancehall and Best Music Video categories.Â
South Africa-based amapiano singer Shasha, who recently cleared the air by saying she was proudly Zimbabwean and not South African, was crowned the winner in the Best International Zim Artist.
One of the highlights of the night was when the controversial artist Vimbai Zimuto performed topless (You can watch the video at the end of this post).Â
Ishan had two awards: the Best Male Artist of the Year and best newcomer award which he won ahead of Mambo Dhuterere, Garry Mapanzure and Joyful Praise Choir.
Gemma Griffith took Best female Artist of the Year award and also won the best Collabo for the song Mugarden which featured Winky D. Mu Garden beat stiff competition from Ngaibake (Freeman ft Macheso) & Kure (I Shan & T Gonzi).
Mambo Dhuterere won the best traditional gospel award.
There was a lot of booing when Econet was announced as the best corporate sponsors.
James Chimombe's daughter put up an exquisite show.
