The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has lifted the ban on alcohol sells allowing supermarkets and registered bottle stores to sell beer.

The police had banned the sale of alcohol in retail outlets country wide in the wake of the 21 day national lockdown to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.

ZRP reversed the ban allowing retailers to sale beer on condition that the alcohol is consumed off the premises.

In a statement, national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi warned drinkers against gathering outside their homes defying social distancing measures.
