Zimbabwean dancehall artist Winky D has been listed in the top 10 list of the best dancehall artists in Africa done by Africa Facts Zone.
The talented MuGarden hitmaker’s recent recognition is not new to him as he was also named as one of the best dancehall artists in 2016 but this time Winky D’s latest album Njema which made waves across Africa in its early release days, stopping Amazon’s Dancehall category has brought about this recognition.
His song Chandelier spent weeks on BBC’s 1 Extra top 5 songs, clinching the number 1 post for 4 weeks.

Dancehall genre which started in the late 1970s in Jamaica as an offshoot of reggae, has become quite as some artists like Rihanna and M.I.A. are crossing over introducing elements of dancehall to a broader audience of hip hop and R&B fans.
