16 More People Test Positive For Coronavirus At Quarantine Centres.
Zimbabwe’s coronavirus cases yesterday rose to 222 after 16 people, all of whom returned from South Africa, turned positive.
This comes amid reports that some returnees are escaping from quarantine centres thereby increasing the chances of transmission and spread of the deadly virus.
The Ministry of Health reported that all the new cases are returnees from South Africa who have already been isolated.
Most (11) of the total number of new cases were from Matebeleland South Province, Midlands and Masvingo had 2 each while Harare had 1.
This has seen the number of cases in Matebeleland South rise to 32, those in Masvingo to 35 and Midlands to 12.
Zimbabwe now has 189 active cases.
Nearly 50 000 people have now been tested.
