Radio Lessons Programme For ECD, Primary & Secondary Level Students Launched
A radio lessons programme has been launched for ECD, Primary and secondary level students which will be aired in all the 15 languages spoken in Zimbabwe.
The programme which is a response to the closure of schools due to COVID-19 is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in partnership with the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Zimpapers, Skyz Metro FM and AB Communications.
Officially launching the programme at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) Montrose Studios in Bulawayo, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Cain Mathema said the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic disrupted normal educational processes and the face-to-face learner-teacher interactions. He added:
As such, the ministry has come up with alternative strategies to ensure continuity of learning in the face of the global pandemic.
He added that the ministry is also developing emergency learning modules, radio and television lessons and e-learning material for learners to use for a period of six months.
